With flu season and COVID-19 still prevalent in the air, it’s more important than ever that we take better care of ourselves and children. There are so many different types of vitamins and medications out there, but did you know that you can boost your kid’s immunity with certain types of foods? As a registered dietitian, it is extremely important to me that my boys are as healthy as possible, so I definitely make sure their diet includes these essential foods to help boost their immunity. Check out this list of immune-boosting foods for kids.
If you haven’t introduced spinach to your kids, you may want to after reading this. Spinach is packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, beta carotene, vitamin E and magnesium which all support immunity building. You can sneak spinach into other vegetable dishes, smoothies and more! Surprisingly, yogurt is an excellent food for immunity. It contains a great source of vitamin D which can trigger the body’s natural defenses for immunity. Look for yogurts that have ‘live and active cultures’ on the label. Try plain yogurts and sweeten naturally with fruits or honey. Red Bell Peppers
