The holidays are upon us, so you know what that means—it’s time to start putting together those holiday menus! For Thanksgiving, we typically have a traditional menu—turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a green veggie dish, such as brussels sprouts or green beans.
This year, I decided to spruce up the menu with this Garlicky Sautéed Broccolette with Bacon recipe! I know what you’re thinking—what is broccolette?
So, What is Broccolette?
Broccolette is a cruciferous vegetable that is a cross between broccoli and the Chinese kale called gai lan. It’s also known as broccolini and has a milder, sweeter taste than broccoli and contains thin, tender stalks that are absolutely delicious when cooked.
If you want to get your hands on this yummy veggie, just head over to Sprouts Farmers Market. Sprouts has the best selection of fresh produce for all of your favorite holiday dishes. I always stock up on several fruits, veggies, and fresh herbs for all of my holiday recipes!
Broccolette is very easy to cook. For this recipe, I cooked it in a skillet, on medium-high heat for about 2-3 minutes until it was tender, but still a little crunchy. For softer broccolette, cook for about 5-6 minutes. The bacon gives this recipe so much flavor, so there’s really no need for a ton of additional seasonings.
This Garlicky Sautéed Broccolette with Bacon dish is definitely one of my new favorite recipes! I can’t wait to serve it for Thanksgiving! Happy Holidays, y’all!
