Now that school has been back in session for a while, and we’ve adapted to our new school routine, it’s time to take another look at lunch and snack time! As you know by now, I am a serious “meal prepper!” Even though I rely on meal prepping to get us through the week, there are times that I fall into a rut and start repeating some of the same menu items.
This dawned on me, when I was packing my kids’ snacks last week and realized that I packed carrots and peanut butter 4 days out of 5! I’m pretty certain that it was a result of mommy brain, lol, but it made me want to spruce up snack time and add a little fun!
Besides carrots and peanut butter, my kids LOVE Stonyfield® Organic Kids® products! As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I love it because it contains up to 25% to 40% less sugar than the leading kids’ yogurt and has no artificial flavors or colors! When they were little babies, I would always purchase the Stonyfield Organic Kids Cups, but now they have SEVERAL options to choose from! Stonyfield Organic Kids Cups, Pouches, Smoothies and Snack Packs provide so many wholesome organic combinations to add some fun to lunch time or snack time!
Since my kids love ALL of the Stonyfield® Organic Kids® products, I thought that it would be a fun idea to incorporate them into cute, little superhero snack packs! My son’s class is obsessed with superheroes! When I chaperoned their last field trip, every one of his classmates had a superhero name! It was unreal! Lol! At first, I was just going to make my son a special snack pack, but I thought, why not make them for the whole class!
These were super easy to make! I picked up a few items from the store, which included:
• Stonyfield Organic Kids Cups, Stonyfield Organic Kids Pouches, & Stonyfield Organic Kids Smoothies
• Clear gift bags
• Colorful Chenille Stems (Pipe Cleaners)
• Colored Fabric
• Erasers, Crayons, & Stickers!
• *You will also need a glue gun!
I started off by cutting the colored pieces of fabric into small triangles to make mini superhero capes. You will need different sizes since each snack pack will be different sizes.
With my glue gun, I glued a piece of the chenille stem along the top of each mini cape and set aside. To make these superhero capes even more realistic, I added a classic, old-school superhero sticker to the back of each cape! I had these stickers stashed in my party supply bin and thought they would be perfect!
After that, I stuffed each bag with Stonyfield Organic Kids Cups, Stonyfield Organic Kids Pouches, or Stonyfield Organic Kids Smoothies.
Then I added erasers, crayons and stickers to make each pack super fun! I tied each snack bag with a superhero cape and glued a cute little note and sticker on the front!
When you’re done making each superhero snack pack, you will need to keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to pass them out. As I packed these snacks and headed to my kid’s school, I packed a few extra Stonyfield® Organic Kids® products for the teachers because adults love them just as much as the kids!
? The kids absolutely LOVED these little packs! And the absolute best part of the day….my son told me that I was a cool mom! That totally made my day!!
