Nothing makes us more excited than the holiday season! We love it because it’s filled with magic, gifts, and beautiful decorations everywhere! Each year, I let my kids make their own holiday decorations and decorate their very own tree! Since my kids are HUGE fans of Ricky Zoom, I thought that it would be fun to have a zoomtastic themed holiday!
Who is Ricky Zoom??
Ricky Zoom is little red rescue motorbike that loves to race, try new stunts and zoom into adventures, along with his loyal bike buddies Loop, Scootio and DJ! I love Ricky Zoom for my kids because it teaches them the value of teamwork and shows them how to work together! We watch it every weekday on Nick Jr!
The kids wanted to put a zoomtastic spin on our traditional holiday garland, so we decided to make chain-link garland featuring Ricky Zoom’s famous, Z! This garland was super easy to make! All you need is colored construction paper, scissors, and double-sided tape.
Start by cutting a few pieces of colored construction paper into 1-1/2 inch strips, width-wise (8.5″ long). Coil the first strip and close with a piece of tape. Coil the second strip (of an alternating color) around the first and close with piece of tape. Keep going until the garland is the length you want.
Next cut a few, Zs, out of red construction paper and tape them onto every other paper link. That’s it! Now just hang it, drape it or use it as a table decoration!
The boys draped it on their Christmas Tree and did a great job! They were so happy with the results!
To make Santa’s cookies extra special this year, we decided to make Ricky Zoom Holiday Cookies! We followed this super easy recipe that you can find HERE!
I let the kids help me decorate the cookies and add sprinkles to them. They were so good that I think we’re going to have a hard time saving some for Santa Claus! Lol!
Be sure to keep the adventure alive once the holiday party is over by watching Ricky Zoom on Nick Jr!
