Thank you, Sprouts Farmers Market, for sponsoring this post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are truly my own.
During these warm and sunny months, frozen treats are a necessity in our home! If it’s sweet and fruity, my kids will ask for it lol! And I have to admit that I enjoy them too! Even though we are fans of these yummy, frozen treats, I’m not always a fan of the high sugar content, so I decided to make a healthier alternative and whipped up these Fresh Mango Strawberry Swirled Slushies.
These real fruit slushies get their gorgeous color and sweet flavor from fresh fruits and a touch of honey. I love incorporating fresh fruit in our treats because they contain a great source of vitamins and minerals.
Any time we take a trip to Sprouts Farmers Market, I make sure that I stock up on tons of farm-fresh produce to have on hand for our healthy summer treats! Sprouts has the best produce department that I’ve ever seen! They have such a wide variety of items that allow you to get really creative in the kitchen!
A Few Tips for Making the Best Fresh Fruit Slushies:
Be flexible with the amount of honey you add. Some fruits, like grapes and mango, are quite sweet. Others, like raspberries and strawberries, might taste best with an extra tablespoon of honey added to the blender.
Serve slushies with a spoon AND a straw. You might notice that the slushies are thick at first and best eaten with a spoon, but after about 5 minutes, they start to thin out and a straw can be used to finish the rest.
If you have any leftovers, turn it into homemade popsicles. Pour any extras into a popsicle mold and freeze for a second round of healthy frozen treats!
