These 3-Ingredient Homemade Strawberry Fruit Roll-Ups are such an easy, healthy, and delicious way to make your very own fruit leather…. without any fancy equipment!
How many of you were fans of fruit roll-ups…and probably still are?? Lol! Fruit roll-ups were one of my favorite snacks growing up! My kids are also huge fans of this tasty snack and they ask for it every time we take a trip to the grocery store!
Even though we love this yummy snack, I couldn’t help but to notice the high amount of sugar on the nutrition facts label. At that moment, I decided to make my own fruit snacks to see if I could make a healthier version.

The first thing I did was log onto Amazon to see if I could find a reasonably priced dehydrator, but I had no such luck! Thanks to a few Pinterest searches, I found out that you can use your oven as a dehydrator! Neat, right??
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO MAKE FRUIT ROLLS-UPS?
When making this delicious snack, all you need are just 3 simple ingredients: fruit, lemon juice, and honey. Since we had a few packs of frozen strawberries in the freezer, I decided to use those and about 2-3 tablespoons of honey.
The sweetness is really to your taste and you can use any sweetener that you want. The lemon juice is important because it helps to keep the color of the fruit bright and vibrant. Once you’ve gathered all of your ingredients, blend everything together in a food processor or blender until it’s as smooth as can be.
Next, line a sheet-pan with parchment paper and pour the blended fruit mixture onto the lined pan; making sure to spread it out with a spoon or spatula. It should be as thin as possible without forming holes…about ⅛ – ¼ inch thick. Place in the oven on the lowest temp that your oven will go, for about 4 hours. Your oven temperature will determine the time needed for the fruit leather to dry. This time can range between 4 to 6 hours.

You’ll know that it’s done when the middle is no longer tacky. If the edges get too dry and crispy, don’t fret! Just rehydrate them by rubbing them with a little bit of water.
Let the fruit roll-ups cool completely, and then remove from parchment paper. If you want that “authentic” fruit roll-up appearance, you can choose to leave the parchment paper on! Remove the edges and cut the fruit roll-ups into 1-inch wide strips.
*To make this process super easy, try using a clean pair of scissors or a pizza cutter.

HOW DO YOU STORE HOMEMADE FRUIT ROLL-UPS?
Store your fruit roll-ups in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 2 weeks. It will last even longer if you add a paper towel to the container to help absorb moisture.
