1. LIBRARY
The library is truly underrated! There’s lots more to this place than just checking out books! They actually have lots of activities, game nights, craft nights, etc… They tend to have more events during the summer and of course, everything is free! Just check your local library activity schedule to see what’s going on!

2. SPLASH PAD
The splash pad is super fun and most of them are free of charge! It’s perfect on those really hot summer days and your kids will have a blast!
3. SCAVENGER HUNT
This is something that is on my “to-do” list! This is a great activity that you can do indoors or outdoors! There are several scavenger hunt templates online, or you can be creative and make your own!

5. BUILDING WORKSHOPS AT HOME DEPOT
Did you know that Home Depot offers free DIY workshops for kids? Depending on your location, they have workshops that teach kids how to build their very own fishing game, edible garden, and so much more!
4. PICNIC
Picnics are super fun and can be done anywhere…in your backyard, at the park, or even in your living room! All you have to do is pack up a few sandwiches, beverages, snacks, and a cozy blanket and have a ball! The kids will love eating somewhere other than the dinner table and will think it’s the best thing ever!
6. COOKING CLASS
Why not set up a “cooking class” in your kitchen! Choose a fun, kid-friendly recipe and set up all of the ingredients in the kitchen. Guide your kids and let them prepare their own food! They will love being a little “chef” for the day!
7. MOVIES
During the summer, a lot of movie theaters offer free movie showings for kids! These movies are usually a couple of years old, but the kids will still enjoy it! Some theaters may charge $1 for admission, which is almost free, right?! Lol!
8. PARKS/PLAYGROUND
The playground is always a great place to take the kids! It’s a great way for them to burn off some of that energy lol! To make it really fun, get out there and play with them! Channel your inner kid! Lol!
9. HAVE “SNACKS” FOR DINNER
Sometimes kids get bored with the same dinner routine and want something different and fun! Why not prepare a few healthy snacks, such as wheat crackers with lean turkey and cheese, wholesome granola bars, and mini fruit skewers for dinner?! Arrange these items on platters and your kids will think you’re a super cool mom, or dad! 🙂
10. GAME NIGHT
Game night is always fun and exciting, but why not turn it up a notch?! Add some great party food and allow the kids to stay up a little past their bed time! After all, it is summer vacation right?!
