Anytime we go to a nice restaurant, I try to encourage them to try something different…but they always end up ordering chicken fingers!
I tried to cook my own grilled chicken fingers, but my kids were not impressed…AT ALL! Lol! Even though I had all of the right spices and seasonings, they still missed that crunchy skin, so I thought that I would give homemade chicken fingers another shot!
I decided to make these Crispy Oven Fried Ranch Chicken Fingers for dinner using my secret ingredient, Argo® Corn Starch! Corn starch is often used as a thickening agent for sauces and soups. However, when used in your batter to fry or bake chicken, it will leave you with a noticeably crunchy and beautifully browned exterior while sealing in the juices of the chicken! It can also be used as a binding agent in baked goods. Just add corn starch to your batter to get the perfect crispy coating!
When preparing this recipe, I combined my flour, cornstarch, and ranch seasonings to make my crispy batter. I also used a couple of eggs to help my batter stick to the chicken.
Once my chicken was battered, I placed them on a greased baking sheet and baked them for about 20-25 minutes, or until thoroughly cooked. Set your oven to broil and let the chicken fingers cook for an additional 3-5 minutes for that golden-brown coating!

Crispy Oven Fried Ranch Chicken Fingers
- ½ cup Argo® Corn Starch
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 packet ranch flavored seasonings
- 1 lb chicken breast tenderloins
- Salt/pepper to taste
- Pre-heat oven to 400°Line baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
- In shallow dish, combine Argo® Corn Starch, flour, and ranch flavored seasonings. In another shallow dish, add eggs. Coat chicken with flour mixture; dip into egg mixture, and then dip into the flour mixture again. Place onto baking sheet and sprinkle with salt/pepper to taste.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, turning once, until chicken is no longer pink in center. Turn oven to broil (higcook for an additional 3 minutes, until coating is golden brown.
